As a new role housed in the regional office,
he/she will, in consultation with the Mass Mobilisation Director, develop
online organising and mass mobilisation strategies. These strategies will
integrate with Greenpeace Southeast Asia’s (GPSEA) offline strategies to
strengthen our campaign impact through supporter engagement, participation,
learning and development in our projects and campaigns.
S/he will be mentoring and training
in-country staff in the areas of online mobilisation including its integration
with online organising, fundraising, communications and campaign unit
strategies.
S/he will be researching global best
practice within his/her discipline and building key strategic relationships
with other specialists in mass mobilisation and community organising across the
sector to ensure we are able to meet our external impact targets and internal
growth and strengthening objectives for Greenpeace Southeast Asia (GPSEA) and
the movement we support.
SCOPE
OF Responsibilities:
1.
Expertise in online organising theory and
practice
a. Build a growing bank of applied knowledge
in online organising, social networking, online content and design as well as
other innovative online mobilisation initiatives
b.
Develop and advise GPSEA in the area of online organising
strategies, tactics and methodologies to be applied within campaigns and
project work.
c. Build strong relationships with key
influencers and stakeholders to strengthen GPSEA,s impact in campaign work
and public discourse.
2.
Professional mentoring, training and
development of staff and activists
a. Mentor key in-country Mass Mobilisation
staff in the discipline of online organising, social networking, online content and
design as well other online mass mobilisation methodologies and how it can be
applied to their specific projects.
b. Identify knowledge and skills gaps as well
as learning opportunities for in-country Mass Mobilisation Teams, including the
supporters that fall under their scope, and develop training programs to meet
these needs.
c. Disseminate online organising and online
mass mobilisation knowledge across GPSEA and the wider Greenpeace through
knowledge management systems and staff development strategies.
d. Optimise the content of GPSEAs English website to
encourage and grow unique and repeat visits with bias towards encouraging
action taking, sharing of content and donating; this can include sourcing and
or producing written content, digital still images, audio and visual content,
digital animation; Oversee the in-country language websites.
3.
Integration of programs
a. DATA:
Develop standardised methodology for data capture across website and email programs.
b. OFFLINE: Integrate, where appropriate,
grassroots organising strategies with online organising and social networking strategies
for the purposes of external impact and internal strength building for GPSEA
c. MOBILE: Write, design, produce and optimise
content website and email content for use on mobile platforms
d. CAMPAIGNS: Collaborate with Campaigns Unit
on the development of supporter focused content in the delivery of their
campaigns
e. COMMUNICATIONS: ensuring GPSEA online
content synergy with our brand
protocols, campaign messaging and other
public communications.
f. FUNDRAISING: Integrate fundraising
opportunities within online organising and other online mass mobilisation.
4.
Planning, Implementation and Evaluation
a. Contribute to GPSEA mass mobilisation
planning, implementation and ongoing evaluation and regularly update relevant Senior
Management Team (SMT).
b. Build a culture of Praxis (theory – action
– Reflection) across GPSEA and produce evaluations of activities on a regular
basis.
c. Assist the Mass Mobilisation Managers on in
Country planning days and mentor Mass Mobilisation In-Country Coordinators in
planning, implementation and evaluation.
5.
Project Management
a. Lead and implement projects, including
representation of GPSEA at local, national or international where assigned by
SMT
Selection Criteria (Essentials):
1.
Bachelors degree involving digital marketing, social
marketing, communications, webdesign and / or minimum 5 years relevant
equivalent industry experience.
2.
Demonstrated high level skills in developing online organising and mass mobilisation
strategies and training others in online strategy development, including
experience in mentoring and developing staff who do not fall directly under
your line management
3.
Demonstrated experience in writing and visual
communication for a diverse range of audiences, including producing cohesive
multimedia content packages including written, audio, visual, digital animation
and data visualisation content.

Experience in working across diverse communities
including demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills
5.
Strong personal organisation skills including
ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and timelines
across various timezones, strong interpersonal communication skills and ability
